Dear 25th Year HST Families,
We are pleased to announce that registration is currently open for Broadway Choir and our tech workshops. Please note that, in order to ensure we have enough T-shirts for everyone in Showcase, we will have to close Broadway Choir enrollment on January 6. Important additional information:
– If your student is on Tech Team, the following classes are also included: Tech Crew Workshop, Prop Workshop, and Set Painting Workshops. So, you will NOT need to register for these. However, please let us know as soon as you can if you plan on attending so that we can plan accordingly. – For students who are working towards THS, the hours for all 5 of these Tech classes count toward your required Tech hours.
To register for these classes: Please log into your TADS account and follow the steps below. We ask that you do this by Jan. 6 for Broadway Choir. For the workshops, please enroll by the Wednesday before the workshop occurs.
– Click on the Green “Visit” button under “Enrollment” – Click on the blue registration number for the student you would like to register – Click “Click here to edit student’s enrollment information” – Click the Supplemental tab – Scroll down to the very bottom and click the green “Edit Responses” button. – Scroll almost to the bottom of the white section to where it says “Spring Courses” – Select the ‘Yes’ bubble under Is your student currently enrolled HST Cultural Arts – Select courses for this student. – Click the green “Submit” button at the very bottom.
Unfortunately, the system will not automatically bill these mid-year course additions. We were told by our representative at TADS that we would have to periodically check on enrollment under the custom reports section of our Admin account. So, in order to make sure your course addition gets processed in a timely manner, please email or text Mena Stell once you have completed the above steps. You don’t have to send your course selections. Merely send the name of the child you updated to: menamacrina@aol.com or text to: 410-905-1137
Also, if you know of any new families who might be interested in HST but were not able to enroll in the fall, Broadway Choir might be a good place to try us out. *We are accepting new applications for Broadway Choir only. **We will be sending out a separate email for new families that you will be able to forward to anyone you think would be interested.*

Dance Skill Charts & Instructional Videos
Dear 25th Year HST Dance Families,
The first 10 weeks of HST’s dance classes have a primary focus on technique (except for level 4 classes). This year the 10th week will actually be the 1st week back after Christmas holidays (Jan. 7 & 8). After that, teachers will be focused on choreographing the dances for Showcase.
*Please use the attached skill charts and links to instructional videos to help your students practice at home* because *skill mastery is not going to happen if dance class is the only time your student dances.*
Tap instruction videos:

For Jazz the ‘Howcast’ videos on youtube are free and recommended: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF6166F725D8AA1DE
We’ve also attached the list of skills that should be mastered at each dance level.

Shop using Amazon Smile & HST gets funds!
Dear 25th Year HST Families,
Please consider signing up HST as your charity for Amazon Smile shopping. *Shopping through Amazon smile is exactly the same as shopping on Amazon*, *with the added bonus of a small percentage of your total purchases being donated to HST.*
Signing up is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Go to: https://smile.amazon.com/
1. In the middle of the page banner, click on “Supporting:” (in orange) OR Click on “Accounts & Lists” (under your name in banner). Scroll down to see “Other Programs” (on right side of screen) and click “Change your Amazon Smile Charity.”
2. Once you are on the Charity selection screen, look for “Or pick your own charitable organization”. Type in the letters “HST” in the search bar and click on “Search”
3. Select the option that comes up for “HST Cultural Arts, Inc.” DONE!
Now, whenever you shop – go to https://smile.amazon.com/ and shop the same way you would on Amazon, but now HST will automatically get a small percentage.
Remember, HST survives by making every little donation count. We usually get a few hundred dollars each year from Amazon Smile, which is a few hundred dollars we don’t have to raise in some other way!
Thank you for taking a minute to sign-up. Blessings, Marilyn

Bolin’s only for Ms. Steffi support tomorrow
Dear 25th Year HST Highschoolers,
Tomorrow is the cooking day for Ms. Steffi. We were originally doing 2 homes, but Ms. Steffi’s bone marrow transplant is now scheduled for January, not December. So the new plan is:
Tomorrow – Nov. 23rd 10am to 1pm *The Bolin’s:* 10 Bryants Nursery Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20905 (301-421-1362) Please remember to bring a packed lunch!!
January (11th or 18th) – the Hebeisen’s will have a cook day.
Another reminder is that on Dec. 6th we’ll be collecting individual dinner servings to stock Ms. Steffi’s freezer with.
Many thanks to those who can help tomorrow, and to all who are praying. Blessings, Mrs. Mullan
THREE …..Baskets & Bidding Reminders
The list of baskets with estimated retail value and minimum bid is attached. The itemized list of what is in the basket will be on the bidding sheet.
Bidding reminders:
– The bid sheets list the next increments for bidding. The numbers are in red until the value of the item is reached and then the numbers are written in green. – We hope people will try to “Go For the Green” when you are bidding on an item you would normally purchase. Bargains are fun, but please remember this is also a fundraiser. – At the end of intermission we will have a count-down that ends with “Pencil’s Down”. – Please honor the pencil’s down – even if you are in the middle of writing. – The last person with a full name and amount will be the final bid.
PIZZA ORDER Reminder:
Form is attached. Please drop off forms by 4pm at the check-in table basket (with check or cash).
FINALLY – please be praying for the people who are putting in long hours to pull off this event, for the success of every student performing in the Variety Show, and for a fun evening blessed with financial provision.
Thank you to everyone who has & will contribute to this event. Blessings, Marilyn
