Dear Understanding Travel Troupe,
First:
CONGRATULATIONS! *You did an amazing job on Saturday.*
I am SO impressed by how you handled the late script, the incomplete run-through, the mic issues, the fast changes……you showed great professionalism. TT is so unique – it demands greater creativity and flexibility than any other troupe. While I will always regret the extra stress you went through due to the late scripts, I will always remember how you rose to the challenge.
With 90 mainstage shows and (now) 9 Coffeehouse’s – I don’t remember a lot of specifics about particular shows. However, certain things stick firmly in my mind, and this particular Travel Troupe year will be one of them because you completely knocked it out of the park, despite the challenging situation I put you in. So, *take a moment to savor your accomplishment and be proud of your success.*
Second:
How to handle the Blues when it’s over:
Well, to begin with – it’s NOT over! You have your field trip to Kennedy Center’s Costume wear-house this Friday.
– Please meet at Redland Baptist at 12:15pm. – Drivers are: Mrs. Hoyle, Mrs. Henley, Mrs. Hiller, and Mrs. Haley. – You should be returning to Redland around 3:30pm. You can hang in lobby until 4pm if that’s an easier pick-up time for your parents. – Please wear your regular HST attire. – *If you are NOT planning on going – please let me know. I have a couple tech students who would really like to go on this trip (in addition to yo*ur 2 regular techs) and I need to see if I have enough seats for them.
Second, the best recovery for anytime in your life that you feel “blue” is to make a gratitude list. It is impossible to stay down if you truly think of all the blessings in your life…and there are always blessings. Each day has little consolations that help us get through – if we are just open to noticing them. Some people actually write them down – which isn’t a bad idea when you are done a show. Like me – the details can be forgotten years from now. Jotting down the highlights of your performance experience and stapling it to your show placemat before tucking into your memoriabilia box (if you have one) or take a picture of it so you can have a memory trigger when you are scrolling through your past.
I won’t be able to come with you on Friday as all our other troupes are doing costume runs, but I hope to hear about it when you return. Again – GREAT JOB! Blessings, Mrs. Mullan

How to “Check-In” for Today’s Shows
Dear Understanding HST Families,
In order to avoid the crowded standing in the hall waiting for the door to open (which is when the “show” starts), we are switching to a check-in system.
Starting 30 minutes before each seating there will be people at the “Check-In” table in the hall.
– You *check in your family – picking up colored “tickets” for that seating.* – Your name & friend’s names will then be written down on our seating list. – You are free to go for a walk – just return right before show start (3pm, 5pm or 7pm). – NOTE: You can also purchase tickets for $15/person. Our 5pm show has 48 left, the 7pm has 16 left, and 3pm is Sold Out – although we will sell no-show seats right after start of show.
At start of show (3pm, 5pm, 7pm) we will call out family names to go find seats- *in the order in which they were checked in*.
– Each person coming through the door has to hand in their colored card, so i*f you’ve checked in people who are not actually there, you will have to wait in the hall to give them their colored cards*
*NOTE:* *Travel Troupe families who asked for all 10 tickets for the 3pm performance* *will have their tables reserved so there is no need to check-in early. *
*Student Section Tickets *- have been assigned to tables so that they, too, *do not have to worry about checking in early * See lists below. *They are NOT required to sit at the table they are assigned to if there is another open spot they’d prefer to take. * Student section will be seated after we have seated family/friends of performers.
Blessings, Marilyn

TT – let’s start at 12:30 tomorrow
Dear Understanding Travel Troupe,
Many of you are already at Redland at 12;30 because of siblings, so let’s get started early tomorrow. If anyone can’t make it by 12:30pm – please let me know. Blessings, Mrs. Mullan
PS – Do me a favor and make sure everyone knows because some people don’t check email regularly.
Memorization Tips
Here is the memorization tips document.
TT optional rehearsal – pizza provided
I keep forgetting to say that I will provide pizza tonight.
Also – if anyone is good at painting by numbers – we have your flat that needs “filling in” for the design. Bring a paint shirt just to be safe. Blessings, Marilyn
TT make-up plot – please print & read
Dear Understanding Travel Troupe & Make-up Minions,
Attached is your Make-up Plot. Everyone should print and review – it has instructions on how to arrive to the theater on Saturday. EVERYONE should have their make-up kit (clearly labeled).
