Wig Workshop postponed until 4/25

The Shakespeare Wig Master who runs this workshop cannot make this Monday. Normally it is her day off but they just scheduled a publicity photo shoot for their next show. So, we are moving the wig workshop to Mondaty, March 25th from 1 to 5pm at Mullan’s (follow up class on Wednesday, May 1 from 1 to 5pm). Students must be HST age 14 and up.
Please let me know if you already paid but can’t attend on the 25th and we will reimburse you. Conversely if* you now can come, please let me know. You can bring your check to the workshop. Returning students are 1/2 price. * Blessings, Mrs. Mullan

Reminder – Fri. Showcase order need separate check

Showcase Friday has only 4 more tickets. If you submit an order for Friday tickets tomorrow you need to:
1. Mark 2nd choice performance if we can’t fill for Friday 2. *If you/your friend can only come on Friday* – please submit TWO checks – one for the Friday order and one for all the other tickets you are ordering.
– If we cannot fill the Friday order, we will destroy that check and fill the other order. – *If you do not send a 2nd check, we will have to hold your order until the following week when you can give us a check for the proper amount* . – Note – our checks & balance system depends on the # of tickets processed equally the amount of $ those tickets should bring in. If your check if for 10 tickets but we can’t process the ones you ordered for Fri. showcase – these numbers will be off.
Thank you for your understanding. Blessings, Marilyn

Update on Mrs. Alexander

Dear Understanding SR Troupe,
First, Mrs. Alexander wants to thank you for your prayers. Her surgery ended up being more extensive than they thought so she is still in the hospital. She was able to swallow a little bit tonight so she is optimistic that they’ll let her go home tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll be more comfortable at home, but we need to continue our prayers for pain management and restoration of her ability to eat/talk.
As was the plan, Mr. Hart and Michael Barber will do a run-through with you this Friday. We need to get a run time – so please review lines/dance/blocking. If the show is very long we will start looking at making cuts, which I would hate to have to do. I’d much rather you come in ready to have a tight run and make time.
Finally – another reminder that WWII pictures are due Friday at midnight. Our HST alumni, Maggie Tallman, is going to put the video show together and we need to give her enough time that she can fit our project in around her other theater work.
I know your show is going to be a gift to everyone in the audience. I’ve already had people thanking HST for allowing them to put pictures into the show. It is particularly moving when the pictures sent are of relatives that did not come home. I think your show will be a beautiful blend of touching tribute and contagious optimism. Blessings, Mrs. Mulan

WWII Pics due THIS FRIDAY

Dear Understanding HST Families,
I have thoroughly enjoyed the WWII pictures we have received thus far. Some have shared the stories of their relatives and I find myself so grateful that we are able to pay tribute to this generation that sacrificed so much for our freedom.
Deadline for emailing pictures (take a picture of your picture) is Friday, March 15. Blessings, Marilyn

Reminder – Tues & Wed – collection/checking of parent provided items

This is it! *Tuesday and Wednesday *are collection & checking of *parent provided items!*!
Please bring ALL of the parent provided items so the costume designers can “check-off” that your student is good-to-go.
– *Some of the items – will go back home with your student* (tights, leo, undergarments, jazz pants, shoes). They will then bring them to the theater. – *Other items will be labeled and kept* (dress pants, jeans, Khaki pants, etc.).
Many thanks & blessings, Marilyn

Makeup Minion Assignments

Dear Understanding Make-up Students,
First, I must apologize that I was the weak link for getting you this information. Megan sent it to me a month ago. I truly thought I had forwarded it onto you. Please accept my apologies for this error.
Megan will be sending out characters that you can do designs for soon. Blessings, Mrs. Mullan
Coffeehouse – We need at least 2 per show – there are 3 shows. Let me know if you can do all 3 performances or could only do one or two. (3pm, 5pm, 7pm shows) – Bethany Hoffman – Addie Tallman -Lara B (if you are interested in more practice) – Mia P. (if you are interested in more practice)
Showcase: -Jess (Student designer) -Emilia -Paige (We may call on current and re-trained make-up students to help before show)
Gaithersburg/Shakespeare: – Emilia (Student designer for Shakespeare) -Lara B. -Sam H. -Carrie H.
* Jr./Sr.:* -Paige (Student designer for Sr.) -Mia P. -Emily H. -Addie P. (for JR Troupe) – Jess (SR Troupe)
Student Designers will do the following:
– Write up a supply list of everything we may need, makeup and hair wise, for their show. – Create any new makeup design sheets for new characters that are specific to their show.
They will turn in the spreadsheets and I will go over them to double check them, but they will need the character design sheets that the directors filled out in order to do their own spreadsheet. Please let me know if you have any further questions. I will try and get a list of design choices out to you this week so that the students can pick one or two characters to design.
Sincerely, M. Ellis

HST Flier for you to forward to family/friends

Dear Understanding HST Families,
Apparently, I never sent out the email flier so you can advertise our shows via email notification. (We are working on check-lists for tasks so that moving forward my Admin Captains can help me catch these kinds of things).
We are SO appreciative of everyone’s efforts to sell tickets. Please let your friends and family know that last year we sold out half of our performances so it is best to commit early.
Our flier is attached. Blessings, Marilyn
