Dear 25th Year Highschoolers,
If you are HST age 14 (you will be age 14 or older on Dec. 31, 2019), you are considered an HST highschooler (even if you are still in 8th grade). All HST highschoolers are invited to participate in the highschool events run by HST’s Honor Society.
HST’s Honor Society (THS) 1st event is a fundraiser – 2 Car Washes (Sept. 14 & 21) Since HST must fund-raise all the money for sets, props, costumes *and* all admin expenses….fundraising matters! Please sign up for at least one shift!
Our first car wash is *THIS SATURDAY – Sept. 14 *from *9am to 5pm. * *LOCATION: **Shell Station – 2240 Veirs Mill Rd., Rockville, MD 20851 *
*To Sign-up – click link below & read instructions at end of email.*

*PARENTS:* Generous HST parents who come by to support our teens are greatly appreciated. *Please stop by and get your car washed.* You will be impressed by our student’s enthusiasm and work ethic.
*STUDENTS: *If you cannot work either Saturday, you can still play a very important role in the success of these fundraisers by praying. * In the 17 years that HST has been doing student car washes, I have seen a direct correlation between the prayer support and the financial success of these events.* God loves to bless us, but He does not want us to take Him for granted. Think about how we would feel if our friends/family just assumed we’d always help whenever they need it. We all like to be asked/thanked for our service, so why would we do less for God? Therefore, *p**raying for the success of these car washes is just as important as working.*
Looking forward to seeing old (and new) faces when I stop by to check on supplies. Let’s get this year off to a great start with successful car washes!
Blessings, Mrs. Mullan PS – I apologize for the late notice but we had some confusion with booking the gas station. I was able to get them to release this Saturday back to our group, but we may not have it for next Saturday. So,* if you have a suggestion for an alternate location for the Car Wash on Sat., Sept. 21, please let me know. *
*INSTRUCTIONS:*
– We are* limiting participation to only those student signed up*. Too many workers makes it harder to focus on working. If all the slots are filled for one time slot, please pick a different time. – New HST members who are HST age 14 (by Dec. 31st) are always welcome. – Dress code – modest shorts or pants and an HST tee shirt. *There will be a stash of HST shirts that new HST students can borrow while working. *
– Students need to bring their lunch/drinks (or play to buy snacks at the gas station). HST will provide bottled water. – *You are expected to stay at the gas station, or at your assigned spot for advertising during your entire shift.* This means you need to pack a lunch and/or snacks (water bottles will be provided). Running to buy food across the street or at other nearby restaurants during your shift is not allowed. – Alumni are welcome to stop by to get their car washed but they can’t stay to work/hang-out (this is also true for younger siblings). – Please *help advertise the car wash* to family, friends, neighbors. Your best supporters are people who know you! – After your shift – students are invited to go across the street to McDonalds (and/or Dairy Queen) to eat and hang out. Please bring cash if you plan to do this.
